OLIVIA AVEDON LOGO
PRODUCT DETAILS
Textile Origin Story:
The Olivia pattern came from a pair of murals I painted with two other amazing artists, Holly Williams and Roger Preston. The companion piece to this became the pattern Emma. The sunflower focal piece was painted by Holly. I snatched her out of the graduating class at Otis that year. These were two very large flower arrangements done in trompe l'oeil stone urns, which were painted by Roger. Holly and I pulled a lot of our reference from the French botanical artist, Pierre-Joseph Redouté. The original pieces were multi-colored but I changed direction on the digital design. I wanted the textiles to have that 40s era quality. It's often my touchstone when working on florals. In this instance I decided to do the textile in black and white. The piece is named for one of my very first models from the Studio2eleven Textile Company. This is one of the archive textiles.
