Textile Origin Story:

This one is fun! Last winter I ran into the same woman at two different resorts in Utah two days in a row. I loved her ski sweater and got to talking to her about it. She had owned it for decades. If you know vintage skiwear you will know the brand Dale of Norway. She let me take a photo of the sleeve pattern which became my reference for this piece. To make it truly Defiance I recreated it using my signature pattern, Nesting. I have had fun sending images of the mockups to Susan (the owner of the Dale's sweater) the last few days as I have been getting this one created. While the women's were colored closer to her sweater in black and white, I did the men's in a parchment/khaki color. The icing on the cake? We are finally getting snow today! Maybe designing this shirt was my version of a snow dance! See you on the slopes...
