KATRINA GOLD

Textile Origin Story:

The Katrina pattern comes from my interior design work. I collaborated with a mosaicist to create a pattern in cut glass that would fade from an Arctic white to a Caribbean blue. I was experimenting with this pattern when I started a relationship with Katrina Young, one of the Defiance athletes. I thought this was perfect for her. She is a 10 meter platform diver who has represented the US at the Olympics and other world competitions. I created a medallion pattern from my high resolution images that I truly fell for. I was very inspired to design these sparkling garments for Katrina's first photo shoot! I have done two colors to date; amethyst and gold.
