Textile Origin Story:

This design is something I was really keen on doing. It is the original Stevie pattern. I took photos of a vintage leather jacket that I bought for our February photoshoot. I am obsessed with this jacket! Once it dawned on me to turn into a textile, the next focus was to see if I could rework the color. I really wanted to do something that was red, white, and blue. I love mixing many different shades of blue with red. As the leather patches were mostly straight lined edges it turned out to be easier than I thought. It still took me 10+ hours! I am lucky to be working almost continually with world class divers who compete for team USA so I liked the idea of busting out our colors on this. It is named for Defiance brand ambassador, Krysta Palmer. She won a bronze medal for the USA in the Tokyo Olympics on women's 3 meter! She has been with me for about a year; she is still actively training but has added the job of coach to the women's diving team at the University of Nevada. Pair the Krysta pattern with solid colors; Midnight and Autumn.
